SSTD 10-99 for Standard Hurricane Resistant Construction

High-wind damage to constructed facilities currently exceeds $3 billion annually and is rising. Much of this damage is the result of inadequate resistance of non-engineered buildings to high winds (tornados and hurricanes).

2004 Florida Residential and IRC Hurricane Resistant Residential Construction Workbook provides wind resistant designs and construction details for one- and two-story residential buildings of typical wood-framed construction and one-, two-, and three-story residential buildings of typical concrete or masonry construction sited in high wind regions.

The 2004 Florida Residential Code will be adopted in Florida beginning in July, 2005!
