Chapter 13 of the 2007 Florida Building Code is now available as its own publication: Florida Energy Efficiency for Building Construction. This publication also includes the 2009 Supplement to this code and covers important information and requirement related to energy efficiency in buildings. This chapter, entitled Florida Energy Efficiency Code for Building Construction, includes provisions that regulate the design of building envelopes for adequate thermal resistance and low air leakage and the design and selection of mechanical, electrical, and illumination systems and equipment which will enable the effective use of energy in new building construction, additions, alterations or any change in building configuration. The information covers both commercial and residential buildings.
