For example, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), through its Standards Council, has issued the 2002 edition of the National Electrical Code^® (NEC^®). The new edition includes more than 300 significant changes to the 1999 edition.

The new edition was developed by the National Electrical Code Committee and was recommended with amendments by NFPA's membership.
