NFPA Codes and NFPA standards are developed and published by the NFPA, and are designed to help builders, contractors, inspectors, and many other professional tradesmen minimize risk and remain in compliance with various codes pertaining to a wide range of building applications. The NFPA publishes the National Electrical Code reference books, including the NEC 2008 and the newly updated NEC 2011. These valuable reference guides are essentially an electrician's bible, and serve as a vital reference tool throughout the world. NFPA codes and standards were developed to minimize the risk and damage cause by the effects of fire and related dangerous conditions.
