Flammable Finishes Application Guide: 2006 International Fire Code

This application guide was developed to assist code officials, design professionals and the regulated community in understanding the 2006 editions of the International Fire Code®, International Mechanical Code® and International Building Code® requirements for the application of flammable finishes.

This application guide is divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 addresses the general provisions of IFC Chapter 15 and includes an analysis of spray finishing, dip tanks, powder coating, and the manufacturing of rigid thermoplastics application processes and the hazards associated with each process. Chapter 2 addresses the protection of operations. The remaining chapters address the IFC, IMC and IBC requirements for spray finishing, dipping activities, powder coating and manufacturing of reinforced plastics. In addition, the application guide also addresses the NFPA 33 requirements for spray finishing, powder coating and manufacturing of reinforced plastics, and NFPA 34 for dip tanks.

Also included is an extensive and detailed analysis of the International Mechanical Code® requirements for hazardous exhaust ventilation systems and National Electrical Code® (NFPA 70) requirements for hazardous (classified) location electrical equipment. 108pp.
