2004 California State Building Codes
At this point, the 2005 California Energy Code and the 2004 California Electrical Code are the only updated California Building Codes since 2001. The Commission is planning for its next triennial edition of the California Building Standards Code (California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Parts 1 through 12). The publication will include all the “Parts” of Title 24 that are based upon the following: the 2005 National Electrical Code; the 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code; and the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code. It will also include four new codes never adopted by the state -- the International Building Code; the International Residential Code; the International Fire Code; and Appendix Chapter A1 of the International Existing Building Code. These codes are replacing the currently adopted Uniform Building Code, Uniform Fire Code and Appendix Chapter 1 of the Uniform Code for Building Conservation
