This complete chapter-by-chapter self-study course will help plumbers at all levels in learning the details of the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code. This comprehensive study guide is a must for every apprentice, journeyman, contractor and inspector. It contains questions and answers on every chapter of the Uniform Plumbing Code, plus nine practice exams.
This study guide was developed as a tool for self-study or classroom training to assist the user to better understand the requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code. Although it is quite useful for examination preparation, such as inspector certification, contractor and journeyman, it is not intended to replace the intense study required to be successful for these exams. This text is not intended to replace the Uniform Plumbing Code document.
To get the most benefit from this book, begin by reading the summary of the code chapter located at the beginning of each study chapter. If you are preparing for an open-book exam, read the question and answer choices, then attempt to locate the subject matter in the code as quickly as possible. Proceed in this manner until you have completed the exam. Verify your answers in the key located in the back. If you are preparing for a closed book exam, read each question and answer carefully, then choose the correct answer. Check your work using the key located in the back of the text.
When you have completed the practice exams for each chapter, you will be ready to attempt the general exams located in the back of the study guide. Note: If you are taking a timed exam, be sure to give yourself the same amount of time to complete the general exams.
This book also contains a trade exam, two general exams, and a math exam to further test your knowledge. Technical drawings of buildings and mechanical systems are provided where necessary. The trade exam pertaining to gas systems includes piping diagrams for additional sizing.
